New York, NY – Powerful and poetic songwriter Pieta Brown will release her newest album Dreamin’ Of via Righteous Babe Records on August 21, 2026. The magnetic and ethereal 10-song album was produced by Bon Iver’s S.Carey and Mike Lewis alongside the songwriter, recorded in Justin Vernon’s studio, and in a delicate, cinematic song cycle, it tackles themes including Nature, Love, Loss, War and Addiction. Pieta’s unmistakabl
In addition to S.Carey and Mike Lewis, a handful of friends bring their unique contributions to the album including Jeremy Ylvisaker, Bertand Belin, Amos Lee, Bo Ramsey, Barbara Jean Meyers, Bryan Vanderpool, and Romain Collin.
Like dreams, the songs twist and turn and surprise; from the wondrously intimate frontiers of “Nothin’ But Trouble” and “Someday Someday” to the enigmatic harmony-drenched “Laura” and “Was The One,” in which Pieta artfully plays with time, distance, and mood. From the majestic poetry of “Love Letters” and “So This May I” to the pop-tinged pent-up anthemic glimmers of the album’s luminous closer “Glitter Town.”
A spellbinding ode to the heartache of the times and a true album standout is Pieta’s “Drinkin’ Side” duet with Amos Lee. “Something freeing happens when we sing together,” she says.

“Tell me what you’re dreamin’ of…let me be an outlaw for your love,” sings Pieta on the title track. “This song came in in a dream-like-fever-state late one night after I happened to read an article about a father who was somehow urging love and tenderness after losing his kids to war,” the songwriter says. “I instantly kind of fell outside of myself and this song came in - with the melody. That guitar line brought the words. There are so many people around the world living so closely with war. Inside and out. But one thing I love about songs is they give us open places to dream, you know?? Different kinds of worlds. Collective medicine of frequency.”
“Days after the song came in I drove 12 hours straight to Mike Lewis’ basement in the woods of Northern Minnesota to try recording with Mike, Sean (S. Carey), and engineer Brett Bullion,” she continues. “In just a couple of experimental days and nights it felt like the heart of an album might be coming into being…but when I left the session I wasn’t sure if or when or how I would try recording again. One day months later Sean sent me a demo version of some of his production ideas for the ‘Dreamin’ Of’ track we had recorded in Mike’s basement. As soon as I heard it I could feel the album would come in. I’ll never forget walking in the sun and listening to the ‘Dreamin’ Of’ version Sean sent. And I really do love to hear about people’s dreams.”
